Pasko sa Tanjay Festival
The Kasanggayahan Festival 2026 is expected to take place throughout October 2026 in Sorsogon Province. According to the Tourism Promotions Board, the festival commemorates the founding of Sorsogon as a separate province from Albay and is considered the province’s largest annual cultural celebration.
The word “Kasanggayahan” comes from a Sorsoganon term meaning prosperity, happiness, and abundance. The festival highlights local culture, agricultural products, traditional dances, and community celebrations across the province.
Today, Kasanggayahan Festival is recognized as one of the biggest celebrations in the Bicol Region.

The first Kasanggayahan Festival was held in 1974 during the administration of Governor Juan G. Frivaldo as part of the celebration of Sorsogon’s provincial foundation anniversary.
Sorsogon officially became a separate province from Albay on October 17, 1894, and the festival was created to commemorate this historical milestone.
