In 2024, the Philippines welcomed nearly 6 million international visitors. Monthly arrivals remain strong, with over half a million tourists in February 2025 alone, indicating a thriving tourism sector.
A passport valid for at least six months is required, and all travelers must register for an eTravel card within 72 hours of departure. The Philippines has lifted all COVID-19-related entry restrictions.
The ideal time to visit is during the dry season, from November to April, offering warm and sunny weather perfect for outdoor activities. December to February is particularly popular due to the comfortable temperatures.

Top destinations include Palawan for its stunning lagoons, Boracay for its white sand beaches, and Cebu for its blend of city and island experiences. Bohol, Siargao, and Manila are also highly favored.

The Philippine Peso (PHP) is the local currency. While credit cards are accepted in major areas, it’s highly recommended to carry cash for smaller purchases and in rural locations.
Pack light clothing, learn a few basic Tagalog phrases, and stay hydrated with bottled water. Be mindful of your belongings and consider using ride-sharing apps in major cities.
For inter-island travel, domestic flights are most efficient, while ferries are great for nearby islands. On land, buses, vans, jeepneys, tricycles, and ride-sharing apps (like Grab) are common.
Show respect to elders, use polite language, and remember that Filipinos value harmonious interactions. A warm smile and modest dress, especially in religious sites, are always appreciated.
