Chinese New Year

January 29, 2025 (Wednesday)

Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and is widely celebrated by the Filipino-Chinese community in the Philippines. Traditional customs include dragon and lion dances, fireworks, red envelopes (ang pao), and elaborate feasts shared among families and friends.

Though not a regular holiday for all, it is recognized as a special non-working day to honor the contributions of the Chinese-Filipino community and allow them to celebrate their heritage. Malls, schools, and public spaces often host cultural presentations, bringing the festive spirit to the broader Filipino population.
